NHAI Invites parallel bids as contingency to finish Gurgaon-Jaipur stretch

After facing huge criticism for failing to get the six-laning of Gurgaon-Jaipur stretch completed on schedule, NHAI is not leaving chance for any further embarrassment. It has invited parallel bids to complete the remaining work involving INR 650 crore in case the present developer fails to perform.

Though the bankers of this project have started releasing funds to expedite the pending work, NHAI officials said they are putting a contingency plan in place.

"Since the focus is to get the remaining work completed as soon as we can, we have divided the stretch into three packages. If we award the work to new developers in case the present one fails, the deadline will be only 10 months," said a source. He added that the assessment of work has been made considering the land availability.
