Tough Phase for Delhites : Power Tariff to Hit High in the Next Quarter

Power tariff in the city is likely to go up next month with the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) directing Delhi's power regulator DERC to restore a surcharge within three months.

Compensating the discoms for rise in the power purchase might leave the delhites at discomfort for the next three consecutive month,as a hike of close to 5-20% is projected in the  power tariff of Delhi. However, it remains to be witnessed in future that whether rise in the fuel cost is the only plot for such a hike or its the charge for so called "24×7" power supply to be experienced by Delhi.
