Upcoming National Optical Fibre Network Projects to Unfold Opportunities of INR 72778 Crores in India

A committee on National Optical Fibre Network, a project to roll out broadband network across village panchayats, has estimated over three fold increase in project cost to Rs 72,778 crore from about Rs 20,000 crore approved earlier.

This may give a new boost to the project in terms of more connections and coverage in more cities and Gram Panchayat. Undoubtedly, the opportunity for the service provider like fibre laying, cable works etc. and other equipment manufacturer would increase substantially. There is also a time constrain associated with the project completion and hence the pace should be accelerated to meet the timelines.
