Soaring congestion in the transmission grid is not only going to badly hit the power supply scenario in  northern India but is also likely to effect the financial stability of not the discoms but of the generation companies too. Howerver, the recurring transmission issues are dwindling the faith of end consumers to have uninterrupted electricity availabilty as of now, making 24×7 power supply target of the Union government as still a distant dream.
