GAIL's Offering in LNG Carrier Deal : A Boost to Make in India

GAIL India is insisting foreign shipbuilders to build in India at least a third of the 11 LNG carriers it plans to charter for about 20 years beginning 2017 to transport LNG from the US.

The proposal bring to light the inherent intent for Make in India initiative in O&G sector. The proposed capacity building will turn enhance the LNG imports to India. However if the company fails to materlize these contracts well in time then it can hamper evacuation process for imports of LNG from US.
