In order to revive the interest of investors and to meet the ambitious target of 175 GW of Renewables by 2022, this Act can be seen as the stepping stone. This Act will give more clarity on the responsibilities of the various institutions involved in the project planning, development and commissioning stage, further it would also help states to meet their RPO obligations. Although this Act will boost renewable capacity in the coming years but poor financial state of DISCOMs may act as a barrier to evacuate the power generated.
