REC Market Still Struggling for Buyers

 Sale of renewable energy certificates (RECs) has declined 6.61 per cent to 1.73 lakh in July compared to 1.85 lakh in the previous month.

REC Market in India is consistently losing sheen despite corrective measures from the Government to rekindle dwindling proportions. Though now the Honbl'e Supreme Court has passed an order to mandate the renewable purchase obligation for state power distribution utilities but still the fate for REC market is dubious as the necessary verve required to push the same lies in the financial strength and above all the intent of the discoms.
