Tata Power Co. Ltd is evaluating stranded power assets that it will acquire if it finds them attractive, Tata group chairman Cyrus Mistry said on Wednesday.

TATA Power is planning to purchase stranded assests of various power companies, thereby, curing them from financial instability and expanding its portfolio. This decision comes as the relief to those power companies which are trying to sell their assets and to raise funds in order to service their debts. Although, it might come as the challenge to make these asests viable and generate revenues in order to make profit, therefore feasibility of these acquisitions still remains the unanswered question.
