Arunanchal pradesh, a state with untapped potential of 65 GW of Hydro Power has always been an attractive region for investments by investors and stakeholdes.Recently proposed 13 Hydro Projects on echologically sensitive river Tawang, raises question on echology balance of locality. Though Hydro projects are necessary for economic development of state, but contrary to it also effects nature, causing displacement of local population, destructing habitat of animal and even causing their death, impacting biodiversity rich forest, seismic activity due to hydraulic pressure. These all factors are to be counted in while giving clearance for projects , otherwise nature reaction to these imbalances may cause immense impact on people living around, as already experienced in Uttaranchal a years back . A proper mitigation measures like afforestation measures, minimizing impact on animals and forest needs to be muddled to these developments , otherwise biodiversity might suffer irreversible environmental damange.
