North Eastern States Seems to Have More Potential for Rail Development

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu launched new train services in the Northeast after the completion of North Lakhimpur-Murkongselek and Balipara- Bhalukpong sections into broad-gauge.

The North Eastern states that lagged behind the other states in Public infra, is now gaining momentum. The states seem to have a potential of INR 37000 crores development in gauge conversion, doubling and new rail line construction. With the faster pace of development and new train services being rendered in these regions, the opportunities are most likely to be widened for the EPC players, contractors and manufacturers.
