Consumers will now have to appropriately plan their usage as they will have to pay higher tariffs in peak time. Further, distibution utilities will now be able to shed off the excessive burden of buying costly power from the spot market as demand might come down in the peak time, this will somehow help utilities to cope with the financial crunch they are exposed to in the present scenario.
