Public sector Power Grid today said the Rs 12,000-crore transmission line between Assam and Agra having 6,000-MW capacity will be commissioned by month-end.

This project will improve the transmission facility to the north eastern region. This may open new opportunity for power project developers to tap the large hydro power potential of that region. Also it may provide an opportunity to eastern region power plants to sell surplus power in the deficit north eastern region. This may improve the capacity utilization factor of these power plants and also better the power availability in north eastern region.
