India seems turning out to be a dumping ground for the Chinese mobile manufacturers like Lenovo, Xiaomi, Huawei and Gionee whose market share for 4G handsets has rose to 45%. This has impacted the Indian handset manufacturers adversely to the extent that their 4G market share dropped down to less than 10%. Make in India initiative in the process of making India a manufacturing hub seems to be hampering the business potential of the indigenous players by allowing the foreign players to set up their manufacturing base in India.
