Government now plans to reduce price further to INR 44 from INR 74. This reduced price would bring change in the preference of people for CFL and tubelights. Additionally, it will create a win win situation for both consumers and Delhi discoms. People could save 50-60 % on their bills & energy consumption and discoms would have lesser stress of supply of power. Lightening sector could alone save 20 % of electricity consumption in India, and there is more potenntial to save power at consumption end.
