New Efficient Brown Field Power Project to Fuel Future Demand

News:

The Union government has firmed up plans to shut down some 11,000 MW of thermal power generation capacities that are at least 25 years old and build bigger plants with total capacity of at least 20,000 MW on the same tract of land for estimated investments of INR 70,000 crore.

Replacing old plant with new efficient one would certainly reduce the tariff due to reduction in the time and cost overrun involved in land acquisition and R&R to mention few. Also, it may cut down the pollutants emitted  from the power plant.
