The withdrawal of GE from civil nuclear program may slow down the growth in nuclear power sector. The “Nuclear Liability Law” may force the technology suppliers to think of the risk first before investing in the country. The lack of indigenous expertise and unwillingness of foreign companies to participate in development of new nuclear plants may make investment scenario gloomy in the sector. This may affect India’s plan to add 10,080 MWs nuclear power generation capacity by 2019.
