Is the Future of Cheaper Power from Solar Parks Bleak ?

Power producers have said the fees levied by the government on solar parks under various heads has forced them to increase prices by at least 10 per cent at a time when the trend is towards declining cost of clean energy.

The imposition of several levies may enhance the cost of power generation from the solar parks.The  interim effect of this can increase in the bid price from higher than average prevailing price of INR 5/unit. Thus it would be interesting to see how the developers  factor in the higher capital costs for these upcoming solar park projects.
