Inter-State Transmission Charges for Renewable to be Waved Off : A Positive Rider !

To give a push to clean energy projects in the country, the government has decided to waive transmission charges for electricity generated from renewable sources, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said today.

The move will certainly boost the renewable energy projects and make them lucrative for open access.  However there still lies challenges for evacuation of power as open access has failed to gain momentum on the ground even for the convential power. Thus, lies a need timely implementation of green energy corridor with active participation from all states to gain maximum from  waving of transmission charges in renewable energy.
