Venture Capitalists are Cashing Big on Smart Grid Infrastructure Sector

Venture capital funding in the smart grid sector stood at $81 million in the July-September quarter of 2015, according clean energy consultant Mercom Capital Group.

It is not only the big financial institution who are investing big on the clean energy sector but the inflow of venture capital funding show a welcoming trend in the sector. This investment will mainly contribute towards research and development in the smart grid technology & clean energy sector. Also this will encourage new breed of technocrats to be entrepreneurs and help the country to find smart solution in electricity sector. Looking at the future opportunity in the governments ambitious smart city program and roof top solar capacity addition program (40 GW roof top solar capacity addition target by 2022), it seems clean energy sector may attract  more venture capital funding in coming years.
