With increasing coal production in the country and growing environment concern.  It is high time that India should concentrate on new clean coal technology like coal gasification projects in future. Also from past few years’ Indian fertilizer and gas based power plants have been facing trouble in operation due to unavailability of fuel. So projects like this will reduce country’s dependency on imported gas and may help to improve the operation capability of these plants. Also, participation of public sector companies in this project may encourage more private players to go for more such projects and may help to bring more investment to the sector.
