Solar Industry in for a change, Duty Hike to Boost the Manufacturer or beat the Developer !

Imposing of safe guard duty to the extent of 70% will inflate the cost of solar projects significantly making the profit margin of developer shrink beyond the viable limit. This might hinder the ambitious 100 GW solar target as developer might turn away at reduced tariff trend against inflated project cost because of safe guard duty.

Further, Govt must rethink the extent of duty hike and must ensure that implementation of duty hike if permitted should be applicable on upcoming projects only without impacting the viability of under construction or project already bid
