Govt is trying to shift to electric two-wheelers but there are very few automobile companies striving in this direction. Govt needs to come up with definite regulations to interest the big fishes if electric two-wheelers are to become a reality, electric two-wheelers can become a game changer in India’s oil dependence making a positive impact on India’s economy but for smooth transition Govt needs to ensure that charging should not become an issue as two-wheelers are more dominant in rural India.

However, this measure might a big blow to conventional automobile segments in terms of technological obsolescence and job losses in the existing business but at the same time it will create a parallel market to explore in the electric vehicle segments.
