Govt has been uncompromising in its approach to provide round the call reliable electricity to everyone and this will facilitate the utilities to function better. With India being a surplus state in terms of power generation, Govt needs to focus on the transmission and distribution part and ensure that all the investments are well utilized. DISCOM’s need to be answerable for the AT&C losses, Govt’s proposed right to electricity act will ensure that and the infrastructure needs to be revamped to reduce transmission loss.
