Oil Import from Non-OPEC Countries, a Gateway?

Ever since the OPEC countries along with Russia decided to decrease the production of crude oil, oil prices have gone sky-high. India depends heavily on imported oil and this decision largely increased India’s oil bill and adversely impacted the economy, with India exploring other markets this will come to a halt. Though this could be the call of the hour now, Indian Govt needs to try and increase home production and decrease dependency on imports as that is the only long term solution.
