Coal Supply to be Raised, Better Late than Never

With power plants running low on coal, taking a hit on production and spot electricity prices’ soaring high this comes as a welcome measure. Power producers will heave a sigh of relief as coal shortage rendered their projects completely unviable. Govt needs to ensure that railways implement it as quickly as possible. Govt also needs to ensure that power plants are stacking the required amount of coal and coal supply by CIL and its subsidiaries is to the optimum level otherwise increasing coal supplying railway rakes will become futile.
