Hike in Gas Price and its Implications

If Govt raises the natural gas price, raw material cost for CNG and PNG will increase too. It will also result in costlier power, petrochemicals and fertilizers but will boost the top line reveue of domestic producers like Reliance Industries and Oil and Natural Gas Corp.  Further, considering key consuming sectors grappling with under supply issues and running on sub optimal capacity, hiking the price might impact them badly. Hence, Govt needs to strike a balance so that domestic producers benefit with minimum impact on other sectors.
