Third Largest Electricity Producer, Paradoxical Reality?

India is a mammoth economy and with the rise of the economy, power requirement has been rising exponentially and with Govt’s favorable policies and schemes in place installed capacity has been increasing so this comes as no surprise. Even though India has become the third largest producer there are many places still deprived of electricity and power shedding is a common occurrence almost throughout the country, thermal power plants are in a crisis state with lack of coal supply. Govt needs to focus on thermal plants as renewable which is Govt’s prime focus area will not be sufficient to feed the power demand to its full. Govt needs to channel India’s power potential and capacity properly so that electricity is available to everyone and is available round the clock.
