Solar Dumping Probe, Cause & Effect

DGAD started the probe when domestic manufactures complained that these imports were crippling their business. With the probe going on there were speculations that there will be a 75% duty hike and developers started to avoid solar auctions in fear of their project viability and that in return affected 100 GW target. Before filing again domestic manufacturers need to ensure that their production is at par in number with the requirement in market and the cost factor does not jeopardize developer’s project viability. Govt needs to ensure a balance so that both the domestic manufacturers and the developers can benefit.
