Power Sector in Distress , High time for Government to Prescribe Bitter Medicine to Save the Sector.

Indian Power sector set to face toughest time with both crippled downstream DISCOMs and inefficient top stream CIL. While power exchange price is poised to rise with early summer demand and sub optimal thermal plant operation , DISCOM might opt for power shedding and long black outs to sort the issue.

Hence Government must take the challenge head on to resolve the issue on a sustainable basis, instead of opting for populist measures by slashing the power tariff to woe the vote banks. Its high time for bitter medicine for the power sector, before sector get paralysed.
