Saubhagya scheme: Milestones Ahead Marked to be Concluded at a Faster Pace

<p><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Government in recent past have announced for outstandingly achieving 100% electrification status. As per definition of electrification, a village is considered to be electrified if 10% of the total number of households in the village have been electrified.&nbsp; This is apart from the basic infrastructure and electrification of certain public centers in the village. Manifesting&nbsp;90% of households of village still do not have an electricity connection.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:11pt">As per government estimates still 2.7 Crores does not have electricity connection. Rs 16,320 crore Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana - &#39;Saubhagya&#39; scheme launched last year in September, the government aims to electrify all 3.6 crore un-electrified households by December-end.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:11pt">Government has positively embarked to rationalize execution of electrification projects at a rapid pace by incentivizing early completion of projects. The ministry has set to form different group of states based on the parameters like geography and number of households to be electrified. Among each group, the state completing the task of 100 per cent household electrification at earliest will be rewarded. This effort will catalyse to achieve the objective of 100 per cent household electrification under &#39;Saubhagya&#39; Scheme.</span></p>
