2000 MW NTPC solar bid to re-invite Financial Bid Considering Impact of Safeguard Duty

<p><span style="font-size:9.0pt">NPTC has asked developers to revise and requote their financial bid for 2000 MW NTPC&#39;s solar auction. The revised bids shall be inclusive of safeguard duty. Developers find it a big relief as they are allowed additional tariff to bear the burdened cost of safeguard duty. It is estimated that imposed duty may rise tariff by 40-50 paise per unit. Government has allowed this cost to be passed over to consumers, which is certain to increase APPC cost of Discoms.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:9.0pt">Imposition of safeguard duty, is poised to inflate solar tariff by more than 3 Rs/Unit and its impact can be seen in upcoming auctions.</span></p>
