Government to mull over rise in wind tariff due to transmission facilities

Wind energy tariff have seen a rise in tariff by 20-30 paise per unit. Developers attribute such rise due to overloading of transmission cost. Wind energy sites are limited and are far away from available pooling stations, distance from substations increases transmission costs and hence the higher tariff. Government must look at the evacuation issues and uncertainty in the industry else would reflect as poor participation in the auctions.
