Woes of Solar and Wind may bog down targets for this fiscal

<p><span style="font-size:9.0pt">Both Solar and Wind sector are experiencing issues like inadequate transmission infrastructure, land acquisition and imposition of safeguard duty on import of solar equipment from Malaysia and China has spread a sense of cautious optism among developers. Prospectively delay due to these factor may impede development in the sectors and capacities addition targets may be missed. Depreciation of rupee also poses a threat to economics of solar and wind tariff, with bidders and lenders going circumspect around low margin.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:9pt">Scrapping of recent solar &amp; wind tenders may cascadingly miss ambitious capacities addition targets set by the Government and may derail the objectives of increasing renewable energy share in generation.</span></p>
