Hybrid Projects: Entities to meet RPO in proportion of Wind and Solar Source

With an objective to optimize usage of transmission infrastructure, incentivizing technological development and ensuring grid stability, MNRE issued a policy for large-scale solar and wind hybrid projects providing a framework for expansion of grid-connected wind-solar photovoltaic hybrid systems in the country. The policy honours entities buying power from these hybrid projects to meet solar and non-solar Renewable purchase obligations(RPO). RPO obligation to met on the actual ratios of each source’s installed capacity instead of the capacity indicated in the PPA if the actual installed capacity of each source is different from what was declared in the PPA.
