Government moots to develop low cost of generation for rooftop projects

To be competitive in the market and gain count on installed capacities, government aims to bring down cost of power generated from solar Rooftop projects to Rs. 2.5 per unit. Reason attributed for high cost of power generated from solar rooftop is logistics and high capital cost. To bring down the cost, government has joined hands with German financing institution KfWv to reduce capital, logistics and power costs.

India is now working on developing its waterways, which will help bring down the cost of logistics. To reduce capital cost, access of capital must be given to companies with better credit rating. Developing of rural and backward areas must be kept on top priority, where companies must focus on putting their resources to these areas and exploit the capacities available.
