NTPC stage forward to control Delhi NCR pollution

Pollution levels in Delhi NCR rose to a sore high hazardous (500+) levels during October to December 2019. In an endeavour towards sustainable measure, NTPC Dadri plant has decided     to use agro-residue-based pellets to co-fire its power plants along with coal. Dadri plan has been co-firing close to 70-80 tons of agro-residue fuel along with coal, which is further planned to process procurement around 20,000 tonnes per day.

Government's effort to optimize usage of agro-based pellets is convinced to fulfil objective to twofold - one it turns off stubble burning in farms and brings down pollution and two it will reduce coal usage in power generation.
