Deploying renewable power solution to telecom towers possibly boost solar

Telecom towers predominantly use diesel generator set as power backup which has carbon footprints, contribution to emissions. In sustenance of  deployment of government’s inkling to reduce consumption of fossil fuels and energy-efficient technologies, Department of Telecommunications has issued directions to the telecom service providers to voluntarily adopt renewable energy solutions, energy-efficient equipment, and high capacity fast charging storage solutions to reduce carbon footprint.

Such move could open up another segment of the market to solar, wind, and battery energy storage companies along with reducing carbon emissions and may also help in achieving the clean energy targets of the country.
