• Ramky Infrastructure Limited has bagged been awarded with quality circle awards. The company has introduced for the first time in the history of Ramky, the concept of Quality Circle, during July, 2011. This concept is a part of Total Quality in managing Human Resources.The concept of Quality Circle is a very old one and for the first time Japan has introduced during 1930s and became a huge success. Since then, the same has become very popular in manufacturing industry particularly at shop floor levels where workers started solving the work related matters by themselves. This has helped them to learn, discuss and debate among a small team of about 5/6 employees by using tools such as Brain Storming, Cause and Effect Diagram, Pareto Principle, bar diagram, Stratification of Data. Thus, there is lots of empowerment to the employees, particularly at the shop floor level.

• The Company has taken the help from Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), who had first given an intensive training for two days at out ORR as well as RTL projects. Since then, both the Quality Circles have been nurtured and supported by respective Project Managers and site HR. The ORR Quality Circle has been named as "Dream Warriors" and the RTL Quality Circle has been named as "Ramky.con". Both teams are headed by Vamshi Krishna and Naresh Reddy, Engineers respectively.

• After deliberations among the team members, following projects have been identified.Dream Warriors -- "Failure of screw conveyor coupling in the Wet Mix Plant"Ramky.con -- "Inadequate Flushing System in EW - Closet"Dream Warriors -- The first case let denotes an innovation by the team wherein the team has replaced the trouble-making Cast Iron Coupling to Mild Steel Coupling. The QC Team has used the waste material lying in the site and got the same fabricated on a lathe machine and as a result of this the wet mix plant has worked uninterruptedly and thus saved many man hours. This has resulted in a saving of Rs3.63 crores approx. The manufacturer of Wet Mix Plant has certified the invention and given a go ahead signal with the change in the equipment composition.

• Ramky.con -- This team has also invented a customized solution by fabricating a Nylon bush to save water and ensuring the improvement in hygiene. The manufacturing company "Jaguar" has appreciated the innovation and we have now an invented product in all the flats of RTL. Both teams took part in the National Convention held at Hyderabad on 10 & 11 Dec, 2011 and secured "Excellence" Awards by competing with over 800 Quality Circles, represented across the country. Both teams have gone through the Quality Circle principles passionately and came out with creative solutions. Besides the tangible benefits to the Company, the intangible benefits such as Team Spirit, Collective Thinking, Communication, Achievement-Orientation and the keenness were accomplished.The Ramky Infrastructure stock closed the day at Rs.199.10, down by Rs.2.10 or 1.04%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.203.90 and low of Rs.199.05.The total traded quantity was 416 compared to 2 week average of 893.
