Cash-Rich PSU Stocks Will See A Build Up: Prakash Diwan

  • ONGC will be a big stock today. Given the kind of interim dividend ONGC has declared, do you think Coal India, Oil India NMDC and other cash rich PSU stocks will also be in focus today? Prakash Diwan: I guess so. Finally if we see that the PSU buyback scheme is not getting through, the only way left and which is a healthy way - by the end of the day is dividend payouts for all shareholders. Not just the government will benefit out of it but it will also be an efficient use of capital.

  • So, all the stocks would be good. I am happy that they would end up finally taking this route rather than any kind of a roundabout stuff that was happening or likely to happen. So all the stocks that you mentioned especially the larger ones would distinctly be in the news and see some sort of a build up.
