ONGC Quotes Ex-Dividend, Falls 3%

  • Shares of state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) tumbled 3%, as it was quoting ex-dividend on Friday. The company, in its meeting held on January 4, approved an interim dividend of Rs 6.25 per equity share of face value of Rs 5/- each for the financial year 2011-12. The record date has been fixed at January 09, 2012 for the purpose of payment of interim dividend.The company decided that it will make payment of dividend from January 10 onwards to the shareholders.At 10:48 hours IST, the share was quoting at Rs 254.15, with volumes of 95,490 shares. Market capitalisation of the company stands at Rs 217,437.78 crore.ONGC, in its meeting on January 4, also notified four more discoveries totaling 15 in the fiscal year.
