Rinfra Completes Rs600 Cr Proj in Tamil Nadu, Commences Toll

  • Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) today said it has completed Rs 600 crore highways project in Tamil Nadu and will commence toll operations on Trichy-Dindigul section from midnight.This is the fifth road project of RInfra in the state, awarded by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for widening of 2-lane stretch to 4-lane under National Highways Development Project (NHDP) ."RInfra, a Reliance Group company today commenced operations of its fifth Road Project. The widening operations ...has just been completed...The toll collections at Trichy Dindigul corridor is starting from midnight of January 11, 2012," the company said in a statement.

  • The project which connects major urban cities in Tamil Nadu like Manaparai, Vaiyampatty, Ayyalur, Vadamadurai was awarded to it by NHAI and the contract entails a concession period of 30 years."To reduce stopover time at Toll Plaza, an Advanced toll management services (ATMS) has been installed to automate tolling which provides CCTVs, speed detectors and other services to monitor traffic flow on the road," the statement said adding the stretch has 10 underpasses, 10 Minor Bridges and, 5 Major Bridges.To enhance safety, RInfra will introduce medical, first aid, vehicle rescue post and patrolling services at toll plazas, it said adding modern-state-of-art restrooms will be built across the entire stretch of the toll plaza corridor.

  • Commenting on the development, CEO RInfra Lalit Jalan said, "With the new developments in Trichy Dindigul Road Project will bring in vibrancy and growth in the present industrial sector and boost the economy of the region."The company said it has emerged as the largest concessionaire of NHAI with 11 road projects totalling 970 km worth about Rs 12,000 crore (USD 2.6 billion) with more than 6,000 people working at various sites.It said it has currently an orderbook of about Rs 24,325 crore.
