India being a vast nation with geographical variations, production of energy is not uniform across states. For example; gas is primarily produced in Western offshore area, On-shore fields in Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat States; with smaller quantities being produced in Tripura, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan States. Whereas, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra are the major oil producing states in India. The value chain is not complete until we have a good pipeline network to transmit the crude oil to refineries and in turn transport the refined oil in various forms to end user. Gujarat has the highest network of crude oil, petroleum product and gas pipelines followed by Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. There is a heavy reliance on imported LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) which is being seen as viable fuel for power generation at coastal locations in Southern States.

The endeavor of this report is to serve as a guiding tool for anyone who is interested in assimilating a holistic understanding & state level dynamics of the Indian Oil &Gas sector. In this backdrop our report titled “Oil & Gas Sector in India- A State Wise Analysis” attempts to examine in detail the Oil and Gas industry in 23 Indian states some of the important being Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Kerala, Delhi etc.

It provides an overview of each of the key sub-segments of the Oil and Gas industry in India along with detailed information on the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream processes. The report provides detailed data on key sedimentary basins in each state. It also provides information about major exploration blocks (NELP &CBM), pipelines, LNG Terminals and refineries in each state. This report will present detailed information on 266 NELP blocks, 34 Coal Based Methane Blocks (CBM) and provide detailed information on Existing, under construction and proposed pipelines and refineries comprising of Product, Crude oil and Liquidified petroleum gas (LPG) respectively. Information about key regulatory and fiscal regimes is also provided in the report.

The report is an indispensable and a must buy for financial institutions, Central and State Power Players, EPC Companies, Exploration and Refining Companies, Banks, Project Financers and Investment Bankers, Technical and Environmental Consultants, Power Developers, Fertilizer Companies, Chemical Companies, Fuel Traders, Gas Distribution Companies, Research Companies, Consultants etc
